I believe a gluttony filled trip to San Diego is not complete with a California Burrito and PHIL'S BBQ! There is a reason why it's been voted best bbq in San Diego for the 4th straight year! There service is friendly but extremely quick! We were in and out in about 1 hour and the line was around the building - also, it was for a table for 6!

You wait in line (hopefully short) and there are menu's planted in several locations. You decide what goodies you want to order even before you hit the cash register. You have choices between piggie, cowwie and chickenie. :) I like that they offer beef ribs! I'm a TX girl so we love our beef! However, they are a little messier to eat... definitely less meat than the traditional baby back ribs. Only complaint is that it can get pricey! You always want a little of everything so it could easily be 20 per person but its not a major concern. I feel like for the portions they give you, it's SOO worth it!

This visit I ordered the full rack of baby back ribs - sauce on (their sauce is amazing)! The baby back ribs dinner comes with 2 small sides or one larger side (mac n cheese, corn). I think their baked beans and their macaroni salad are STELLAR so I would highly suggest those two. They compliment the sweet ribs really well.

I also ordered this sandwich... If you do not like ribs... but still want something porkie delicious. You should definitely get the Broham sandwich. It's a pulled pork sandwich like no other! The bread is sturdy so it holds up to the sauce that devours the meat. The meat is plentiful and SO FREAKING good! I am not a big fan of cole slaw but you can't have a proper pulled pork sandwich without cole slaw - and this sandwich is made to perfection - so just keep it the way it is! You'll be smiling after each bite!
