New Trieu Chau Restaurant

New Trieu Chau Restaurant
9902 Westminster Ave
Garden Grove, CA 92844

First of all, there is also a Trieu Chau on 1st and Newhope. This post is the Trieu Chau on Westminster and Brookhurst. I'm more partial to this place because this is the place my dad would take me too. He longer lives in CA but when he does visit, this is the very first place on his list. Can't help be feel nostalgic about this place!

Come on a Sunday afternoon and you'll be in for a short wait. Luckily for us Asian people... we don't like to sit and chat after we finish eating so tables are always turned over quickly! We had to wait only 15 minutes at 1pm on Sunday w/5 people ahead of us. Talk about fast food!

House Special Small White Noodle Soup

This noodle soup dish is not your typical pho that you would get at a Vietnamese restaurant. The broth is has a more seafood and offal taste, rather than a purely beef/chicken broth. I love the little pieces of ground pork when you eat the soup. The broth is so good you do not need to even add condiments. You have a variety of choices with the noodles: big or small white noodles, yellow noodles and dry noodles- and you can choose to have the soup on the side.

House Pan-Fried Yellow Noodles

This is by far my favorite and most order dish... for the last 20 years! *I'm old* I love and CRAVE that charred noodle taste in the noodles - the same taste you get in most Chinese fried rices. Sounds a little weird but trust me this is primary the reason you love Chinese fried rice so much! :) I love that this place just adapts the recipe to whatever was the freshest at the supermarket. Sometimes you get bok choy (above), or broccoli or chinese broccoli. All of them are delicious. Again, you have many choices when it comes to the noodles: big or small flat noodle, yellow noodle - soft or crispy. Can you tell... I like having choices?

Note: this is a cash ONLY establishment - like MANY Asian places. However, I purchased 2 drinks and 2 dishes for 20 bucks. So it definitely won't break the bank. You have love consistency good food for great prices. Definitely recommend for everyone to try this restaurant out if you haven't already.
